Hi Danijel,

I'm installing RTC 6.34 into XE6, and I found a small issue I haven't seen before. I opened the rtcSDK_C project file, then right-clicked and chose Build, which completed fine with no errors. Next I right-clicked and chose Install, and I got this error:

Can't load package C:\Users\Public\Documents\Embarcadero\Studio\14.0\BPL\rtcSDK_C.bpl. The specified module could not be found.

I went to that path, and I found that each of the 4 RTC files had two "." characters, e.g. "rtcSDK_C..bpl". I removed one "." from each file name, and then I was able to install fine. I don't know if this is an RTC issue or an XE6 issue, but I thought I should let you know.

Best regards,

Joe

This looks like an issue with the XE6 C++ compiler.

Thank you for posting the solution to that problem.

Thanks for your quick reply, as always. I have one more bit of information that I wanted to share with you, just in case it's relevant. In addition to RTC, there is one other component I installed to XE6 via the same method (Build, Install), and the output file names for the that component were okay, and in fact they were written to the same folder. If I learn anything else, I will post again to this thread.

Thanks again. All I can say, is that there were no changes to the C++ package files recently and there are no double dots in unit or package names, so I don't think the issue is RTC-related. But I'm thankful for any info you can provide about your findings, because it can be helpful to others who are using C++ Builder XE6.

Another clue. Today I opened a project in XE6 that I had not updated since C++ Builder 6. I made necessary changes to the project to get it to build, but got an error on run. The problem turned out to be the EXE file was named "foo..exe" (two "." characters instead of one). So, it looks like perhaps XE6 has a problem with very old project files that previous versions did not have. There seem to have been some changes in how the "SUFFIX" macros are used.
