Database Connection Pool

Hi,

I'm working on a webserver and need some help getting fast + threadsafe DB stuff going.
From what i gathered a database connection pool is the way to go.

I found a link to : an Example Database Connection Pool implementation, but it's not active.

Any pointers / help is much appreciated.
